This one is a real photo post card of early San Francisco. Written on front "Market street toward ferry from Kearny San Francisco" There is writing on the back but it was never mailed so no postmark. From the image and the type of card I would guess 1910 to 1920 maybe

Downtown Aurora
Yesterday I showed a trolley that ran out of Aurora Illinois and today is a scene from downtown Aurora itself. I lived in Aurora for a few years as a kid and some of the buildings in this picture are familar to me. Not sure about now but when I was small the drugstore was there and the large building in the left background is still there today I think. The streets were paved when I was small of course and the trolley that is in this scene had been replaced by buses. This picture actually came from a family album although I can not identify the man who seems to be the focus of the picture. It comes from my grandmothers family on my mothers side and came to me when my mother passed away.

Aurora Trolley
I have a "thing" for trolley cars, not sure why. Just because they so symbolize a whole era that has my interest. Todays photo is a trolley, rail car that once ran between Aurora and Geneva Illinois, adding to my interest in it as those towns are near where I live now and I was born and once lived in Aurora. I can't date the photo at all although some research might narrow it down. My guess would be twenties or thirties.
For those that enjoy old photos if you never have you should visit WWW.shorpy.com. They have daily postings of several old photos of great interest and with quite a following usually a lot of follow up comments and information about the images. Images there are available elsewhere on the web usually but Shorpy picks out the good ones and posts high resolution. Worth a visit and if you haven't been there before have some sancks and be ready to sit for awhile as you will likely be tied up looking for hours.

Romantic Couple
Two photo's today that I have had for awhile. They came from the same album and I'm pretty sure are the same people. I think both are fantastic, particularly like the one where they are standing, posed of course but they look so romantic, could be used for an ad or something. The other I like pretty much also, again a nice shot of a vintage car pretty sure it's a Ford, back when they came in any color you wanted as long as that color was black.
I always wonder what happened to the people in these pictures, how thier lives went and such. My feeling about these two is it went pretty well for them.

Vintage Car
This photo just arrived in the mail today so thought I would post it before putting it into an album. I love old cars but no expert so I can't say what it is but the lantern headlights are great and it's good to have a convertable. I imagine the extras were missing though, things like heat and a radio or much anything else. I don't even see a spare which was almost a necessity on those old roads.
